Old Friends

The tender friendship between the two wild mares is what I've tried to convey in this piece. Based on Jerry Sintz' work, I've used reds, golds, blacks, and whites, intertwined and layered together; a physical use of the paint which parodies the horses' relationship. The two mustangs have not only captured each other's hearts, but mine as well, and I suspect I will be painting this particular image for quite a while.
